Synchronization information is visualized in the soundtrack pane. Each of the synchronized words is displayed as a label with a start and an end position. The word is highlighted if the playback cursor is inside the label.
Usually the word ends when the next word starts. It can be observed in a soundtrack pane û there are no spaces between words. Sometimes the song contains instrumental interludes or long pauses that can spoil the synchronization effect û the word will be swept for too long. In such cases Power Video Karaoke allows you to point the end of the word by pressing Control key or selecting Silence button from the synchronization toolbar. When the next word starts, simply press space.
There is also another way of fine-tuning the synchronization and moving the word labels. When you move the cursor over the soundtrack pane with word labels, the pointer changes when it is over the start and the end of the label. To adjust the label placement simply drag it. It is also possible to move both the start and the end of a label at the same time û in order to do this you need to keep SHIFT key pressed when moving the cursor.
If you want to move all of the labels in the song (this may be useful if you want the words to be displayed a little earlier before they should be sang or would like to eliminate the delay introduced during synchronization), choose Shift labels command from Edit menu. Then enter the desired shift time (in milliseconds) in the dialog box and select OK. If you enter a negative number, the flags are shifted backwards, and if you enter a positive number û forwards.
If you want to divide a word into syllables and synchronize them separately, simply type û (dash) in the separation place. If you have already synchronized your song, you need to re-synchronize the line you have modified. If for some reason you need dash character to appear in the song, you may select different syllable separator in using AVI settings dialog box.
There is one more special character û a hard space. If you want the space to appear in your song, but do not want it to separate the words, simply substitute it with æ_Æ (underline) character. It is treated as any other character but is substituted with space in the karaoke video. You may change the default hard space character for another in AVI settings dialog box.
If you want to insert blank lines in your song, you need to place a hard space (æ_Æ, underline) as a single character in the line.
